Website Pages

Use Website Pages when you want a full custom page on your storefront — for example a landing page, “About us”, a campaign, or a services page with its own URL. You design the page in a visual editor (drag widgets, AI assist), then publish so customers can see it.

In Beentara:

  • Path: Website / App → Website Pages (/website-pages)
  • Page title: Pages
  • Permission: website.read to open and edit; publishing and homepage usually need admin or website.update

Website PagesWebsite Pages — list, AI create, and page actions

Is this the right tool?

You want…Use…
A new page with its own URL (yoursite.com/about-us)Website Pages (this guide)
The default home to stay theme + hero/slider/product sectionsHomepage builderdo not replace unless you choose a custom homepage
One published page to become the entire site home (/)Website Pages → Homepage or Set homepage
A link in the top menuMenus after the page is published

Do not confuse with Homepage builder

Homepage builder (/herosection, /slider, /newarrival, …) adds blocks to the default storefront home. Website Pages creates separate pages. You can either keep the default home or pick one published Website Page as the home — not both at once on /.

Before you start (checklist)

Complete these first so Open live and public URLs work:

StepWhereWhy
1Settings → Profile — set your website link (storefront domain)List page builds live URLs from this
2Themesinstall and activate a themeStorefront must be live
3Optional: Menus plan where the new page will appearCustomers need a link to find it

AI features (Generate page, Page AI in the editor) use your plan’s AI quota. If generation fails, save manual work and retry later or build without AI.

Do this / Avoid this

Do

  • Save in the editor while you work; Publish when the page is ready for customers.
  • Use a clear slug (e.g. about-us, summer-camp-2026) — lowercase, hyphens, no spaces.
  • Publish before you Set homepage, copy the live URL, or add the page to Menus.
  • After publishing, check the page in an incognito window (avoids cache).
  • Re-Publish after edits if the list shows Unpublished edits on a published page.

Do not

  • Do not assume Save makes the page public — only Publish does (same idea as invoice Draft vs Published).
  • Do not use reserved slugs such as cart, checkout, login, blog, admission, api, admin, home, homepage, search, account, and other system paths (the app will block them).
  • Do not set a Draft page as homepage — publish it first.
  • Do not duplicate the whole site in Website Pages if you only need a hero or slider on the default home — use Homepage builder instead.
  • Do not expect staff with only website.read to publish unless your admin granted website.update (or full admin).

Understand status (read this once)

Status / labelMeaningCan customers see it?
DraftCreated; not publishedNo
PublishedLive on the storefront (for that slug or as homepage)Yes
Unpublished editsYou changed a published page but have not published againCustomers still see the old published version until you publish again
ArchivedFilter in list; page is not active in normal workflowTreat as inactive until you publish again if applicable
TrashSoft-deleted; restore or delete foreverNo

Rule of thumb: Save = keep working. Publish = go live.

Option A — AI (fastest for a full layout)

  1. Open Website / App → Website Pages.
  2. In “What page should we design?”, describe the page: who it’s for, what action you want (book, buy, contact), and sections you need (hero, features, FAQ, etc.).
  3. Optional: Reference image — attach a screenshot or mockup for layout/style.
  4. Click Generate page (or pick an example chip). Wait — you are sent to the visual editor.
  5. Review content, fix text, drag widgets, use Preview (desktop / tablet / mobile).
  6. Open Settings (gear) → check Slug and SEO tab.
  7. Click Save, then Publish.
  8. On the list, use Copy URL or Open live to verify.
  9. Add the page in Menus if it should appear in navigation.

Option B — Blank or template (full control)

  1. Click Blank page (top right).
  2. Enter Page name and URL slug (or accept auto-slug from the name). Fix slug if you see “reserved” errors.
  3. Optional: Start from a built-in or saved template.
  4. Click Create & design → editor opens.
  5. From the left panel, drag widgets onto the canvas (hero, text, images, FAQ, forms, etc.).
  6. SavePublish → test live URL → add to Menus if needed.

Save vs Publish (in the editor)

  1. Save — stores draft content (and slug/SEO from settings). Safe while experimenting.
  2. Publish — pushes the current version to the storefront. Required for customers to see changes (including first go-live).

If you already published once, the list may show Unpublished edits until you publish again.

Page AI and AI generate

  • Page AI (copilot) — chat-style help on the current page; can suggest or insert sections.
  • AI generate (More menu or modal) — describe (and optionally attach an image) to append sections to the canvas.
  • Results are added to this page — always scroll the canvas or open Layers to find new blocks.
  • Hitting quota shows an error — use manual widgets or try later.

PageSlug, show/hide header and footer on this page
SEOMeta title, description (search and social previews)
Website GlobalsShared site-wide values used by widgets (if configured)
Recent eventsAudit-style log for this page

Change slug only when you understand old links will break unless you add redirects elsewhere.

Revisions and templates

  • Revisions — restore an older saved version if you made a mistake.
  • Insert template — add a saved layout block to this page.
  • Save as template — reuse this layout on future pages (name required).

Preview and exit

  • Preview — see the page without leaving edit mode; switch desktop/tablet/mobile.
  • Back (arrow) — return to the pages list (save first if you see unsaved warnings).

Homepage: two ways to set /

Your storefront can show:

  1. Default storefront home — theme + Homepage builder sections, or
  2. One published Website Page at /.

Method 1 — From the list

On a Published row (not already homepage): Set homepage.
To revert: Unset homepage or use Homepage settings below.

Method 2 — Homepage screen

  1. Click Homepage on the pages list (/website-pages/homepage).
  2. Select a published page, or Default storefront home to clear custom homepage.
  3. Click Save homepage.

TIP

If the dropdown says no published pages, publish a page first, then return here.

Add the page to your menu

Publishing does not add the page to the header menu automatically.

  1. Publish the page and note the slug (public path yoursite.com/your-slug, or / if homepage).
  2. Open Menus.
  3. Add a menu item pointing to that URL or internal page link.
  4. Save and check the storefront header.

Frequently asked questions

What is the difference between Save and Publish?

Save keeps your work in Beentara. Publish puts the page (or updates) on the live storefront. Customers do not see draft-only work.

Can I use Website Pages for my blog?

Blog posts live under Blog. Use Website Pages for standalone marketing or content pages.

Can one page be both homepage and have a slug URL?

When a page is homepage, the public path for that page is /. Use Unset homepage if you want it only at /your-slug.

Do I need AI?

No. Blank page + widgets is fully supported. AI is optional.

What makes a good AI prompt?

Include: business type, audience, goal (lead, sale, booking), tone, and sections (testimonials, pricing, FAQ, contact). Attach a reference image if you have a design to match.

Why does my published page not appear in the menu?

Menus are separate. Add a link in Menus after publishing.
